Rei Terada is Professor of Comparative Literature and Director of Critical Theory at UC Irvine. She is the author of Feeling in Theory: Emotion after the ‘Death of the Subject,’ Looking Away: Phenomenality and Dissatisfaction, Kant to Adorno, and thirty or so articles on critical theory, continental philosophy, and nineteenth and twentieth-century literature. Her book Metaracial Logic: Hegel, Anti-blackness, and Political Identity is forthcoming from University of Chicago Press (Fall 2022).**
